Respite Care (Short- Term Accommodation)
What is Respite Care/ Short-Term Accommodation?
Caregivers are often emotionally and physically exhausted. They need time away from their responsibilities in order to rest, relax, and replenish themselves.
Respite care provides caregivers with a short break and an opportunity to take care of daily tasks or just relax for awhile.
Respite Care is designed to offer you a planned, short break. You and the person you are caring for will benefit from giving someone else the responsibility for a few hours or days.
Respite care can be of various durations such as few hours, days, or couple of weeks. This gives you the option to plan respite care as per your requirements
Who is eligible for Respite Care?
To be included in your NDIS Plan, respite must be considered “reasonable and essential,” much like other supports under the NDIS.
The NDIS will also take into account any support offered by informal relationships or family members who provide care as well as what may reasonably be expected from these groups of people.
